Cold Springs Elementary School
Gloucester City, NJ
Gloucester City constructed a new $20,000,000 state-of-the-art elementary school for 783 students grades pre-school through third, which replaced four outdated neighborhood school buildings. Each of the fifty-eight classrooms contains a bathroom facility and electrical service sufficient to support current and future technologies such as computers, closed circuit TV and teaching devices. Auxiliary spaces include cafeteria/auditorium, gymnasium, library, nursing suite, and guidance office. The 11.2-acre site, previously occupied by a blighted and deteriorated apartment complex, is adjacent to Gloucester City Junior/Senior High School. The complex will accommodate diverse community activities, including public meetings, indoor sports and games, and other public functions.
