Little School Houses

Under our Architect/Engineer of Record contract, VITETTA was commissioned to design a prototype "Little School House." The prototype, as designed, provides the school district of Philadelphia with a modular and flexible design that can be adapted to various sites throughout the district for the implementation of full day pre-school programs and can be utilized for kindergarten and first grade classes. The prototype consists of a core element and classroom modules that can be constructed on either side of the core, depending upon actual site conditions. The 6,800 sf "core" is comprised of an entry vestibule, lobby, an administrative area and multi-purpose room for student activities and lunch. The classroom modules, which attach to both sides of the core, contain the student toilets.
