MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine
Philadelphia, PA
This 120,000 GSF research lab consolidation was part of the Master Plan completed for the Medical School at Drexel / MCP Hahnemann University. Using the national average for assigned space per academic principal investigators (PI), the total required research space was reduced by 25% and consolidated at the Queen Lane and Hahnemann campuses. In the New College Building, each typical lab floor was programmed to accommodate 30 PI's, providing a consolidated research environment for Pharmacology/Physiology, Microbiology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Microbio-immunology and Neurobiology.
In addition, an NMR suite and a small animal facility was accommodated. The project was completed as a fast track design-build process due to a compressed schedule driven by research grant funding.
