As part of the implementation of its Long Range Facilities Plan, the New Brunswick Public School District has initiated planning and design for a new 1,750 student high school facility. The new facility, will support highly individualized learning within a series of small learning communities. The design features a series of highly flexible academies of approximately 200 students each, which feature a diverse range of learning environments to support a broad range of curricula and content areas. These small learning communities will be supported by a robust assortment of core facilities which will include a 1,000 seat auditorium, a black box theater, a large gymnasium, and a state of the art media center. These core facilities were designed for ready access and use by the community as well. The school will also feature facilities to provide a wide range of social services to students and families, including a Student Health Services Center with dental and medical exam and treatment facilities.
