Construction began in June 2008 on the ANNEX to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The ANNEX consists of an additional 935,000 SF of Exhibit Hall, Meeting Rooms and 5th level Ballroom Room. The ANNEX stretches the current footprint two city blocks west to Broad Street; providing the Convention Center with a presence on North Broad Street. The Broad Street façade will welcome visitors through an expansive glass curtainwall and structural steel canopy. When completed in 2011, the Convention Center will boast the largest contiguous exhibit space in the Northeast, the largest Convention Center Ballroom on the east coast and will allow the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority to host two tradeshows or major conventions simultaneously.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center ANNEX is the single largest LEED projected project in the State of Pennsylvania.
