Saint Tammany Parish Hospital

Saint Tammany Parish Hospital (STPH), a 199-bed general medical public non-profit community based hospital, is located in a rapidly growing suburban region of New Orleans. STPH commissioned VITETTA to work with them to understand current and projected space needs. The $35M solution provides various key elements. It develops surgical, cardiac cath and endoscopy services in a "two front door" model in which inpatient and ambulatory patients have separate points of arrival and processing. It also develops circulation that separates staff, inpatients and ambulatory patient movement systems to achieve efficiency and amenity. The solution also provides new and expanded space, not only for a variety of invasive procedures, but also for intensive care, OB services, core labs and diagnostic imaging as well as new and expanded space for an array of ambulatory services. Finally, the plan revises the current campus plan to shape the institution's numerous facilities scattered on three blocks into a single coordinated campus with a strong public identity.
