VA Medical Center Ambulatory Care Addition

The project represents approximately 170,000 GSF of new construction and renovation providing a major new addition that contains an array of general and specialized ambulatory care functions. The project includes the provision of ambulatory care treatment modules as well as an expansion of the existing radiology and surgery services in their current locations to accommodate a "two front door" model of patient care with two separate patient streams to the service; one for ambulatory care and one for inpatients. The core of the facility's ambulatory care functions are devoted to primary care in a series of flexibly designed treatment modules. Complex ambulatory care functions, including oncology treatment, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and ambulatory surgery are also addressed. The design facilitates simplified staffing and provides the institution with flexibility.
