Federal Bureau of Prisons Correctional Institution

This medium security facility houses 550 sentenced offenders in a campus setting.  The facility consists of four, 124-bed housing units, and a centralized program and service building.  The perimeter of the building is secure, while the interior of the building uses standard materials, minimizing the need for heavy institutional construction.  The construction decisions were predicated on an operational philosophy of direct staff control.  The overall design reflects a residential scale in both form and materials.
