California State Capitol

VITETTA worked with the California Highway Patrol to provide architectural and engineering services for security improvements based on a needs assessment for the Capitol Complex in Sacramento, that included Site and Perimeter protection against vehicular attack, Access Control and Denial systems, Command Center design, and interior facility security.. The site is a complex of historic and modern buildings located in downtown Sacramento, California. The project included the installation of a multi-tiered electronic Smart Card system to provide each of the governmental branches with its desired control to the buildings. The project also included alterations to parking facilities, driveways and site access, city sidewalks, city streets and landscaping in public areas to control vehicle and pedestrian access to the buildings and surrounding grounds.
