Lord Stirling Community School

The 98,000 sf Pre-K-8 school was built by the New Brunswick Development Corporation and is the State’s first public school created as part of a redevelopment project. The school is owned by the New Brunswick Board of Education and serves as a link in future neighborhood revitalization efforts in the lower George Street area. The school is located on a 2-acre site. The two-story school houses 410 students and provides an elementary program for prekindergarten through fifth grade, and an enhanced arts program for middle school students in grades six through eight. The new school is a community school open to the public after hours; with facilities including a gymnasium and a 400-seat auditorium available to the public. A 95,000 Technology Lab offers 20 hands-on stations to teach about navigation, digital photography, robotics and aerodynamics.
