Jersey Shore University Medical Center Meridian Health System

VITETTA provided planning, architecture, and engineering services for the design of a two-story, 45,000 square foot ambulatory care facility in response to the needs of this 500-bed general medical healthcare facility. The project encompasses new construction, as well as extensive renovations of existing space to expand ambulatory services and simplify staffing and equipment redundancies by collocation of related service groups. The ground level contains an extensive array of diagnostic imaging facilities, including CT Scan, several radio/fluoroscopy rooms, and a MRI. The second level is dedicated to ambulatory surgery with five major operating room suites augmented with minor surgery rooms, an endoscopy suite and an eye laser surgery room. The facility was designed with a simple and generous structural bay and overall circulation scheme to facilitate renovation, revision and facility flexibility for future needs.

Jersey Shore Medical Center's new Neonatal Intensive Care unit emphasizes natural materials in conjunction with subdued, indirect light to promote an environment for quiet and respectful care of the unit's little charges. The seven bassinets enjoy a spacious clinical environment while all support functions are sustained outside the patient care area itself. Visualization lines for staff are promoted by the design, fostering easy and natural observation while at any point in the spade or at the nursing station.
