Independence National Historic Park

The Independence National Historical Park is a National Historic District landmark as well as being a World Heritage Site involving over 48 buildings across 30 urban blocks. VITETTA was selected to design as fiber optic distribution network and Command Center transition plan for security, building management, data and future expansion of the 48-building site. The Fiber optic network connects a Central Command Center that monitors and controls activity via a computer-generated graphic touch-screen, microprocessor-based control system that permits the Command Center to serve as the nerve center of all Park Service activities. The Control Room design integrates door monitoring, CCTV, intercom, motion detection, fire alarm and 900 mz radio communications into touch screen systems. This includes the telephone system, data/LAN’s, radio communications, electronic security, fire alarm, personnel/ article management systems, energy management, article tracking systems and medical management. The security system includes article surveillance, closed circuit video equipment, locking control, intrusion detection, access control, duress equipment, intercommunication, uninterruptible power supplies, office-tour perimeter security and facility paging. All systems are user friendly, and incorporated ergonomically into the architecture creating a functional yet aesthetic working environment. The network also handles sensitive environmental control and monitoring systems to maintain constant temperature and humidity conditions of 48 individual structures.
