Temple University, Liacouras Center

The Liacouras Center is a new 10,000 seat multi-purpose arena, recreation and community facility. The $47.7 M, 313,000 sf building was designed to be flexible for various events and activities. This event floor better serves the nationally recognized basketball team and can also accommodate, tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, as well as both center stage and end stage events such as concerts, ice shows, and family-type shows. In addition, the floor converts to an open exhibition floor that can accommodate large banquets as well as small trade shows and flat exhibit type set-ups. Also the arena hosts a range of cultural and entertainment events that help defray the cost of the facility. Serving both the University and the neighboring communities, this new facility also provides an exercise and recreation center, jogging track, retail shops, and a community center.
