In addition to those features typically found in modern criminal courthouses, several unique design features have been incorporated into the functional design of this 63 courtroom facility. These include the development of a range of courtroom types which are shared by judges based on case assignments and needs; planning for all courtrooms to be jury capable; designing all courtrooms 100% handicapped accessible; planning for a totally secure facility; clustering of justice chambers on three floors to promote collegiality among the judiciary and creating central holding for 394 inmates.
