The Vitetta Group designed the Pennsylvania Convention Center and led its 2011 expansion, nearly doubling its size. In addition to the convention center, the firm designed the Philadelphia Justice Center and contributed to planning Center City Philadelphia, including Reading Terminal. The expansion introduced a new main entrance, a 57,000-square-foot ballroom, 63,000 square feet of meeting space, and a 260,000-square-foot exhibit hall—the largest contiguous exhibition space in the Northeast. Constructed with cast stone, metal panels, brick, limestone, and granite, the design seamlessly integrated with the existing structure. Emphasizing sustainability, the expansion and its annex earned LEED Gold certification in 2011. Located in the Market East section of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Convention Center remains a premier multi-use public facility.
